AGBU Plovdiv and its weekly publication, AGBU Voice, have been actively supporting Armenian literature and its appreciation in Bulgaria.

(Top Left)
In November of last year, the AGBU Voice newspaper released a new book by author Edoard Sarkissian, entitled The Call of the Abysses. The booksigning event took place at the Chinese Hall of Sofia University and attracted a diverse cross section of the local Bulgarian-Armenian community. The book, Sarkissian's latest, documents the stories of mountain climbers who have been on expedition in Armenia and other countries.

(Top Right) On December 13, the editorial staff of AGBU Voice was invited by the local Alliance Française to join them for a "Soiree Cabaret" meeting. The event was arranged to celebrate Alliance Française's success of the past year and, on the occasion, AGBU Plovdiv presented 20 books published by the chapter to the French organization's cultural club.

In addition to its donation to the Alliance Française, AGBU Plovdiv donated 20 books each to some of the city's most renowned libraries, including the Ivan Vazov National Library, the Aleko Konstantinov Library, the Vazrajdane Library and the Nazim Hikmet Library. Among the books published by the AGBU chapter and presented to the institutions were And Noah Came from Ararat, The Call of the Ploughman, the epic poem David of Sassoun and their newly released publication, The Call of the Abysses.
