For Sevan, service to humanity and dedication to the Armenian people were closely connected values that shaped his life’s work. AGBU President Sam Simonian, who knew him personally, reflected on their final meeting: “I had the opportunity to see Benon Sevan this past February at a dinner that he graciously hosted in Nicosia during my visit to the communities of Cyprus and Greece. We spent a wonderful evening together reconnecting. I did not realize at the time that it would be the last time I would see him. A true gentleman, Sevan was a respected and influential figure in the Armenian community of Cyprus and throughout the Armenian world, and he will be deeply missed.”
