Staying ahead of crisis in a turbulent world
With humanity steeped in multiple crises and disasters, Armenians are reminded that the world can be a dangerous place. The AGBU Global Relief Fund helps immediate and efficient humanitarian relief and assistance to those overcome by crisis, be it a war, public health hazard, a man-made or natural disaster, effects of climate change, economic and political upheaval or whatever may come next to shatter a group’s sense of security and well-being. The Fund can ease burdens of needy Armenians across world.
The threats and humanitarian catastrophes impacting Armenians in hot spots such as Artsakh, Lebanon and Syria demand bold solutions that AGBU is uniquely equipped to deliver. With your support of the AGBU Global Relief Fund, our network of on-the-ground chapters and local offices are prepared to act swiftly and strategically to help communities recover from major natural and economic disasters. From Azerbaijan’s economic blockade of Artsakh and the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria to the chronic financial woes in Lebanon, your gifts help keep us one step ahead of an uncertain and often turbulent world.
For over a century, governments and international relief organizations have come to AGBU as an active partner for delivery of aid. Our historic reliability and transparency ensures that we reach those who need it most. Time and again, AGBU is among the first responders on the scene thanks to its network of local and regional entities.
In addition to other well-established Armenian organizations, AGBU has partnered with Red Cross and Red Crescent, United Nations World Food Programme, USAID, European Union, Fondation de France, World Central Kitchen and other non-Armenian aid organizations.
These days, there can be any number of crisis points impacting Armenians and ample reserves are needed. With the purchasing power to coordinate complex relief programs on a wide scale or customize solutions on a case basis, we can better manage fluid situations in which infrastructures and systems are no longer functioning. We have the flexibility to find alternative ways to reach those who lack access to essential services.
AGBU served communities in crisis in countless ways from 2020-2021- from combating food insecurity due to COVID-19 to providing mental health forums during and after the Artsakh War. We launched emergency relief for Lebanon and Armenia/Artsakh, along with our ongoing Syrian Armenian-aid programs.
For over a century, the name AGBU has been the standard bearer for compassionate care wherever and whenever Armenians are in turmoil. With your support, we can see them through emergencies with practical action, delivered with both speed and substance. We can also provide longer-term assistance to help rebuild broken lives.
