LA City Council Thanks AGBU Canoga Park School

Last week, a tragedy unfolded a few blocks from the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School (MDS) in Canoga Park, CA, that resulted in the deaths of five individuals (three family members of the gunman, the gunman and a police officer). Thankfully no neighbors or members of the MDS community were injured.

MDS rose to the occasion and offered to help those in their community and Dennis P. Zine (3rd District of the Los Angeles City Council) had this to say about the school's support:

I also want to acknowledge the support services offered by the Police Protective League, the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School, concerned citizens, the local restaurants that stayed open to serve the officers throughout the night, and members of the media for keeping the community informed as the tragedy was unfolding. Not only did MDS immediately reach out to help people in their west San Fernando Valley neighborhood but we also learned that the surgeon who operated on and saved the life of the police officers shot during the incident was a MDS alumnus.

We are very proud to know that during such a tragic event MDS rose to the occasion and helped make a very positive impact in its community.
