Khosnag Hosts a Book Launch for Jirair Tanielian's "Literary Searches"

The presentation of Literary Searches by Jirair Tanielian, the well-known intellectual and principal of AGBU Tarouhy-Hovagimian School, took place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2008 in the Asbeds Hall of the AGBU Demirdjian Center (Lebanon) under the sponsorship of the editorial committee of the AGBU publication Khosnag.

Present at the program were Dr. Vahan Ter Ghevondian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Lebanon, various clergymen, Lebanese-Armenian intellectuals, local artists and members of the general public.

Opening remarks were delivered by Khosnag editor Hampig Mardirosian, who highlighted Jirair Tanielian’s role in the realm of Armenian culture. Also participating in the program were Talar Der Vartanian, who read some of Tanielian's writings, and Angele Mississian, who delivered a heartfelt message. Fr. Antranig Granian addressed the audience on the topic of “Jirair Tanielian the Man,” while a fellow editor, Bariur Aghbashian, spoke about the newly released book and its merits. At the conclusion of the program, the author Jirair Tanielian expressed words of thanks to those at the well-attended event.

Also included in the tribute program was a performance Anna Batouzian (singer), Raffi Der Arakelian (organist) and Shahe Babahekian (accordion), members of the AGBU Spidag ensemble.
