Join Katapult Talks for an online conversation on Arts Grants with representatives from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and Creative Armenia. Panelists will dive into the topics of how to submit better applications, and why grant giving to the arts is fundamental to any cultural ecosystem. Panel discussion in English language with simultaneous translation into Armenian. It is implemented by AGBU Armenia, with the support of EU and ArtNexus Sweden.

Karolina Pahlén serves as a senior adviser specializing in international financing at the government agency The Swedish Arts Grants Committee in Stockholm, Sweden. Her professional background encompasses roles as a curator and artistic director, with experience spanning both the independent art sector and established art institutions. She holds a master's degree in International Curating and Management from Stockholm University, along with a photographic arts education acquired at the International Centre of Photography (ICP) in New York.

Anush Ter-Khachatryan

Director of Programs, Creative Armenia

Anush Ter-Khachatryan is a writer, producer, and the director of programs at Creative Armenia, which discovers, develops, and produces creative artists for the digital age through its signature programs such as Artbox, Creative Armenia-AGBU Fellowships, and more. She is the Associate Producer of the feature documentary Invisible Republic (Warsaw IFF 2022), the short film Nowhere (Best of Fest winner at LA Shorts IFF 2023) and the creative documentary / magic special City of Cards (2023). She is also involved in all aspects of production, from creative development to post-production, on Avalanche Entertainment's film and television slate. Her film credits also include I Am Not Alone (TIFF 2019) and Truth to Power (Tribeca 2020). Anush is also the co-author and the writer of the comic book Mashtots: A Not-So-True True Story (2020), the editor of 44 Days: Diary From An Invisible War (Creative Armenia, 2021), and 2021 TEDxAUA Speaker.

Anna Gargarian

Creative Strategist & Lead at Katapult

Anna Gargarian is a creative strategist with a global track record as a consultant and curator in the arts for projects across Yerevan, Beijing, Copenhagen, Florence, Paris, and Boston. From 2014 to 2019, she founded and directed HAYP Pop Up Gallery, a nomadic gallery that encouraged experimental ways of art exhibiting throughout Armenia. From 2016-2019, Gargarian led contemporary visual art initiatives at AGBU Armenia in parallel to running her independent arts agency, IN SITU. Today, she leads Katapult Creative Accelerator Program, an EU Funded program implemented by AGBU in partnership with Creative Armenia to catalyze Armenia’s creative economy.
