    Creative Armenia - AGBU Fellowships

    Defining Armenia’s cultural future

    The Creative Armenia-AGBU Fellowships support visionary and boundary-pushing talents across all artistic fields who demonstrate both creative excellence and a bold commitment to their craft at catalytic moments in their careers. Through this year-long program, fellows receive a comprehensive package of funding, mentorship, and promotion, individually tailored to best serve each fellow’s goals.

    From visual arts to literature, from film to music, the 2026 Fellowships offer funding, mentorships, and promotion to 5 exceptional artists as they join the already 38 Fellows driving a powerful movement for Armenia's creative future.

    Application Guide


    Who Can Apply

    Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

    • Demonstrate a track record of artistic excellence.
    • Be of Armenian origin or show a meaningful engagement with Armenian culture.
    • Be at least 18 years old.

    Applicants of any citizenship are welcome to apply, and physical presence in Armenia is not required.

    Application Process & Deadline

    The deadline is November 9, 2025 (11:59 pm, Yerevan). Please note that applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

    We receive applications exclusively through the application portal, Typeform. Applications sent via email or other means/channels will not be considered. Please make sure you submit all required materials and answer questions comprehensively, as multiple submissions are not permitted. In case of more than one  application, the earliest submission will be considered.

    The evaluation process will last 5 weeks after the application deadline. Through a rigorous selection process, the selection committee will evaluate all submissions. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to join a video interview for the final evaluation in December 2025. All applicants will be notified about the results after the evaluation process via the email provided in the application.

    Application Questions

    During the submission process, you will need to answer a few questions and submit attachments. You can preview them below.

    We strongly recommend preparing all required materials and answers in advance before submitting them online. The form does not automatically save progress, and leaving the page may result in the loss of entered information. We accept applications in English or Armenian.

    Section 1: Personal Information

    Please be ready to share your personal details, including your email, phone number, address, website, and/or links to your active social media accounts. This will help us get a fuller picture of the creative path and public presence.

     

    Section 2: Attachments

    1. A high-resolution headshot/profile picture.

    • High-quality picture (min 1500x1500px) with a clear background, uncovered face, and even light
    • Name your file as follows: NameSurname_headshot
    • Accepted formats: PNG or JPG
    • Maximum size: 10MB

    2. Curriculum Vitae that provides a comprehensive background and relevant links to your works.

    • Includes your name and surname at the top
    • Name your file as follows: NameSurname_CV
    • Maximum size: 10MB
    • Accepted format: PDF

    3 . Work sample, video reel, portfolio, or presentation of your previous works that demonstrate your career trajectory and artistic style. (Alternatively, you may provide a link to your work in a separate document).

    • Name your file as follows: NameSurname_attachment
    • Maximum size: 10MB
    • Accepted format: PDF, MP4, MP3, DOC/DOCX

    4.  (Optional) An additional document that would help us better visualize your creative background. This could be a lookbook, mood board, or other kind of presentation.

    Section 3: Questions

    • Tell us about you, your creative career so far, and how you envision your creative future. (Up to 300 words)
    • Tell us about the creative project you are applying with and the vision behind it? (Up to 300 words)
    • How do you plan to bring your project to life? Please outline an estimated timeline, key phases of the project, and provide an approximate budget breakdown. (Up to 300 words)

    Frequently Asked Questions


    I’m not Armenian. Can I apply?

    Yes. So long as your works relate in some way to themes or subjects relevant to Armenian culture.

    Do I have to be in Armenia?

    No. You can apply from anywhere in the world. Mandatory meetings will take place online, although optional events will be ongoing in Yerevan.

    Is there an age restriction on applicants?

    Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

    What are my responsibilities as a fellow?

    In addition to attending scheduled meetings, we expect our fellows to participate actively in our creative community. That may involve pitching content, leading a workshop, or mentoring emerging artists. We expect our fellows to become leaders of our creative community and cultural ambassadors for the Armenian people.

    And what happens after my Fellowship term?

    We’ll consider you alumni of Creative Armenia and AGBU, and cultural ambassadors for the Armenian people. You’ll have access to our networks and priority consideration for our other programs. We’ll work together to develop and promote Armenian culture.

    If my application is not selected this year, can I apply again?

    Yes, we encourage applicants to apply again with an improved application and/or a different project in the upcoming year. However, you cannot apply again if you have been selected for the program in the past.

    Can I apply if I have participated in other programs by Creative Armenia (Artbox, East-West Residency, Creative Innovation Fellowship, etc)?

    Past participants of all Creative Armenia programs are welcome and encouraged to apply.

    Will I receive feedback if I’m not selected?

    All applicants will receive an email notification about the status of their application. However, due to the high volume of applications, we won’t be able to offer individual feedback. Applicants who reach the final evaluation round (video interviews) will receive a follow-up email explaining the final selection.
