    ANI Language Coaching

    Practice for proficiency

While the potential of Armenia's human capital knows no bounds, success in international business and industry requires fluency in multiple languages. To help local Armenians gain the competitive edge, the AGBU ANI Language Coaching initiative virtually connects adult-learners with volunteers outside of the country to help them practice conversational English.

Coaches and participants meet once-a-week in a virtual session, guided by a suggested curriculum. By the end of the coaching cycle, mentees will have gained confidence in conversing in English, and both parties can come away with new friendships and expanded networking contacts.

    • This program helps participants build confidence and skills which would otherwise be difficult to achieve. My mentee was such a motivated, dedicated and hardworking individual. I was impressed with her vision and felt inspired by her after each conversation.

    • The opportunity to participate in this program came at a time when I was faced with a number of challenges in my business - including needing to interact in English. Today, I feel confident that my language skills will help me overcome this barrier.

    • My mentee decided to pursue English language further after our experience. I am proud that our sessions motivated her to take this important step that will no doubt help her expand her business and provide her with the extra confidence to become a successful entrepreneur.

    • I often attend international tourism exhibitions for my business and the working language is often English. This program was highly rewarding as it helped me improve my ability to communicate well and express myself in a professional manner in English.

    Mentee Participants

AGBU Armenia manages multiple programs including AGBU Women Entrepreneurs and AGBU Women Coders from our AGBU EmpowerHer initiative. Participants from these two programs, in addition to women enrolled in AGBU Learn to Earn Artsakh Program (LEAP) benefit from the ANI Language Coaches, and the list of beneficiaries grows by the month.

The experience increases opportunities for individuals to work in international fields and to expand their businesses to English-speaking markets.

    FACT:

Fluency in a second language, like English, improves job prospects and earning potential for individuals.
