Empowering women in Armenia through capacity building, AGBU Business Mentors connects established professionals from the Diaspora with beneficiaries of our programs in Armenia and Artsakh with the aim to impart expertise and create a broader support network for enterprising individuals in the homeland.
Mentors can engage in various ways based on availability and expertise.
Recognizing the varied needs of mentees, the AGBU Business Mentors program has flexible structures allowing for one-on-one mentorships as well as specialized small group sessions and workshops. Mentor participation can be both virtual or in-person in Armenia.
Experts in diverse fields are welcome. For example, AGBU WE participants run micro-enterprises in various industries and may seek guidance in the following sectors:
Mentors with broader backgrounds are encouraged to participate as well. Workshops and sessions led by Diaspora experts include an array of topics like communications, negotiations, leadership, conflict resolution, positive employer-employee structures, business strategies and more.
“I joined AGBU WE in 2020 to grow my jewelry business. I have participated in a number of mentorship sessions, all of which have equipped me with the skills necessary to run my business more effectively and efficiently. Moreover, we have had an opportunity to develop my soft skills like conflict management and communications. This has helped me develop as a leader and team manager."
“I enjoyed the series of mentorship sessions aimed at marketing and social marketing which changed how I approach that outreach. I already know that the tools, guidance and advice from the mentors will help me further develop my business’ marketing strategy as well as effectively promote its brand.”
“Producing handmade dolls and dresses with unique design and texture I was happy to meet distinguished mentors from the fashion industry. The skills I acquired from the networking workshop offered a broader view on the best practices and pushed me to refresh my own ideas and approaches.
