AGBU Scouts not only learn how to camp and hike, they make it their goal to engage in service and empower their communities. By adopting diverse projects throughout the year— from organizing blood drives to assembling care packages, volunteering at soup kitchens and leading relief efforts— youth are encouraged to think globally and act locally. Not only do our Scouts proudly serve the Armenian communities they are from, they also commit their time and effort to support initiatives in their local areas. Our Scouts programs redefine active citizenship, all while teaching youth exciting new skills.

We actively cultivate the leaders of tomorrow. Our approach centers youth empowerment and accountability, embracing each Scout for their individuality while creating opportunities for teamwork. By encouraging our youth to think critically about how their individual goals intersect with the collective’s, we develop both self-confidence and empathy. Becoming an AGBU Scout means learning what kind of leader to be when. These binding principles have inspired us since the beginning, when our first troupes were formed in Egypt, Lebanon and Syria in the 1930s.

Our AGBU Scouts programs give Armenian youth the opportunity to actively learn about identity, heritage and culture. We create space for each Scout to feel a sense of belonging, encouraging them to engage in a myriad of cultural activities, educational talks, and service initiatives in solidarity with their peers. In this way, their identity as young Armenians is inclusive, dynamic, and ever-evolving. On their journeys of self discovery, our Scouts make lifelong friendships.

AGBU Scouts can be found across the globe – in Argentina, Armenia, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, the United States, and Uruguay. While each of our locations is influenced by their specific environments, our groups remain interconnected through common guiding principles and the AGBU motto: In Unity is Strength.

    AGBU Antranik Scout Camp

The AGBU Antranik Scout Camp is a global scouting experience in Armenia that provides a unique opportunity for scouts, ages 13-17, to explore Armenian heritage, develop leadership skills, and form lasting friendships. Through scouting traditions, excursions, and community service projects, the camp fosters personal growth and a sense of global Armenian unity. It offers a safe and nurturing environment where scouts connect with nature, learn essential life skills, and strengthen their Armenian identity.

Since its inception in 2008, the camp has welcomed over 2,100 scouts from Argentina, Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, the United States, and Uruguay. Held in the breathtaking Lori region, it fosters a deep connection to Armenia’s natural landscapes while instilling teamwork, resilience, and cultural pride.

The program offers a mix of outdoor adventures, survival workshops, and cultural excursions to Yerevan and historic landmarks.
