YSIP Participants Sing "Der Vogormia" at Geghard Monastery

The 2010 AGBU Yerevan Summer Intern Program (YSIP) is scheduled to start tomorrow, but we wanted to share this lovely video from the summer of 2009 when students had an opportunity to visit the Geghard Monastery in Armenia. Carved from the mountain, Geghard has a very spiritual place in the hearts of many Armenians and the YSIP group joined their voices in unison to sing the traditional "Der Vogormia" [Lord Have Mercy], which is traditionally sung during the ministration of Communion to the clergy, which takes place behind the closed altar drape and before the faithful receive Holy Communion.
