On September 14, 2010, AGBU's Young Professionals (YP) of Yerevan had a meeting with Artak Shakarian, a political analyst, Turkologist, Yerevan State University professor and Director of the School of Young Leaders. The talk was held in an effort to continue the tradition of holding meetings and lectures with renowned political figures and analysts of the Republic.

During the two-hour-long gathering, Shakarian spoke about Turkish foreign policy and diplomacy, Armenian-Turkish relations, and the recent and possible future developments in this field. The meeting was open to the public and was attended by numerous interested parties, including young professionals and students from various universities. Active discussions followed the lecture, during which the YPs voiced their positions and viewpoints on Armenian-Turkish relations, "football diplomacy," the opening of borders between the two countries, and the possible political, regional and economic consequences.

Meetings of this kind are an important part of the YP Yerevan team's activities and incentives, and more are being planned for the future.
