On October 17, 2008, the AGBU Young Professionals of Paris welcomed 70 people at the AGBU Alex Manoogian Cultural Center in Paris, France to meet one of the most dynamic figures in the French business world, Rafi Haladjian. A pioneer in new technologies, he is known for creating Fluxus (formerly FranceNet), Ozone and Nabaztag, the famed wi-fi rabbit. Speaking to an audience of French-Armenian young professionals, Haladjian referred to his heritage, business instincts and entrepreneurial vision during his 90-minute interview, which was conducted in talk-show fashion by YP Paris members Cyril Harpoutlian and Valentina Poghosyan.
During the lively and interactive exchange, many audience members asked Haladjian for his opinions on the realities of entrepreneurship, focusing on its risks and challenges. Given the difficult economic outlook, financing projects also came across as a strong concern, especially for the young entrepreneurs attending the conference.
Harpoutlian, who is himself an IT entrepreneur, summarized the success of the event, "In a risk-adverse context, listening to someone who has turned his intuitions into commercial and entrepreneurial achievements was a breath of fresh air."
The conference was followed by a cocktail networking event.
