Following the success of AGBU Young Professionals (YP) of Toronto's Business Etiquette Workshop held in February 2010, YP Montreal and YP Boston held similar events in their respective cities this fall.
On October 21, 2010, Cambridge University-certified Business Etiquette Expert Natalie Jikerjian offered YP Montreal members an interactive presentation filled with relatable stories and valuable advice. During her presentation, Jikerjian -- a corporate communications manager with TD Bank in Toronto -- covered numerous aspects of business etiquette, including dining, communication, the "winning" hand shake, appropriate dress code and, among other things, how certain customs differ in various countries. Jikerjian made the seminar very interactive, encouraging YPs to participate in business etiquette role-play demonstrations; participants were able to ask questions at various points. YP members also had the opportunity to socialize and network over cheese and wine.
On November 12, 2010, Jikerjian led the same workshop for YP Boston members. Once again, she held an informative and entertaining presentation, giving the young professionals an opportunity to learn while having fun in a relaxed environment. According to one of the young professionals in attendance, "Natalie's presentation was very helpful because she explained so many important details and scenarios that could make or break potential business deals." Both YP Boston and YP Montreal hope to hold events like the Business Etiquette Workshop in the future.
