YP Buenos Aires Pitches in for Pan-YP Greenhouse Project

  • Image

YP Buenos Aires organized a mixer on Saturday, July 20, 2013, in celebration of Friend Day, with proceeds earmarked for the AGBU Pan-YP Greenhouse Project in Barekamavan, Armenia. More than 100 young professionals enjoyed a night of music arranged by DJ Parla with a live performance by Arno Stepanyan on the saxophone at the local AGBU Center. Launched in 2013, YP Buenos Aires joined its global peers in fundraising for the Pan-YP Greenhouse Project in Barekamavan, which is located in the Tavush province of Armenia. Treacherously close to the Azeri border, Barekamavan is home to 400 at-risk villagers with limited to no income-generating opportunities. Even though economically and geographically marginalized, the most promising asset for Barekamavan is its fertile land, inspiring the YP Network to build greenhouses to promote economic self-sufficiency and sustainability, and help ensure the survival and sovereignty of Armenia's borders.
