AGBU Young Professionals of Buenos Aires is thrilled to have launched its professional networking site, www.ypbuenosaires.com.ar, in April. The project came to fruition thanks to support and collaboration from the Armenian Embassy of Argentina, Cámara Argentino-Armenia, Asociación Argentino-Armenia de Ciencias Jurídicas, and International Armenian Network, as well as Internet media consultants.
The site is the first AGBU YP web site to provide outside employers with a means to post jobs and seek candidates while also giving YP members a portal to seek employment, list business services in a roster, browse original content about issues of interest to Armenian young professionals, learn of events in the diaspora, and discuss issues in a forum. It resembles the innovative professional networking sites popular among professionals today with career articles and profiles accompanying job postings and employer information.
Among the top stories live on the site are a long interview with Sandrine Tateossian, a young economist who works in the Argentine Ministry of Economy, and another with the budding Argentine-Armenian film director Martin Yerazian, who now lives and works in Los Angeles. News about Armenia and the Armenian diaspora is also reported, including a briefing on a recent photo exhibition about the freedom of expression at the Union of Armenian Painters in Yerevan.
YP Buenos Aires is committed to maintaining and improving the site for the benefit of Spanish-speaking Armenian young professionals, for whom it is a resource for job placement, Armenian figures in Argentina, and news from the Armenian global community.
