Since 2001, AGBU Young Professionals (YP) have lent their financial support to the American University of Armenia (AUA) to sponsor its annual membership fee to the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Digital Library. A decade later, the giving continues with support provided this year by AGBU’s YP Boston, YP Greater New York, YP Los Angeles, YP Montreal, and HAIK, a YP partner organization in Frankfurt, Germany.

For AUA graduate students and faculty, the ACM Digital Library is the ultimate resource to the computing industry, providing a vast collection of citations and full texts from current and archival journals, articles, and conference proceedings, both in print and online. Since ACM is the flagship computing organization supporting research and higher education activities on an international scale, it is essential that AUA students and faculty members have access to the latest publications to support their educational and research efforts.

"As a student of Computer and Information Science (CIS), it is very helpful for me to have access to the ACM Digital Library. It is important to have an updated information source in the IT field because, as we know, it is changing rapidly," says first-year AUA student Tatevik Sargsyan. "From the ACM publications we are able to learn about new achievements in the computing industry and upcoming conferences held around the world. It contains the most complete full-text archive of articles on computing available today. Before, I didn’t have the opportunity to get this kind of updated information which is needed for students, especially in the IT sector. I would like to thank the sponsors, AGBU Young Professionals, for their support."

The donations made throughout the years by AGBU YP Groups have helped support the cost of membership by AUA in ACM’s Digital Library, which advances education through initiatives that address the changing needs of students and professionals in computing and information technologies.
