On October 6, 2010, AGBU's Toronto Chapter invited young Armenians from the YerazArt Foundation to perform in the Babayan Hall of the Alex Manoogian Cultural Centre. This is the second year in a row that the Chapter has invited young musicians from the YerazArt Foundation, which supports and promotes musically talented Armenians by assisting them professionally, placing them in international concerts and organizing tours for them. The Foundation was started in 2004 and is based in Boston.
The show was devoted to a wide selection of world classical and Armenian folk and classical pieces. In the first part of the program, the young musicians played works by Chopin, Paganini, Wieniawski, Car Maria von Weber, David Popper, Jacques Ibert, Darius Midlaud, and Piazzolla. The second part was devoted to Armenian classical and folk pieces. Nineteen-year-old Eduard Nersisyan, on saxophone, accompanied by 17-year-old Shoghagat Vardanyan on piano, presented "Prayer" by Yuri Gevorgyan. Vardanyan also played Babajanian's "Capriccio." Thirteen-year-old Mikayel Grigoryan played Spendiarov's "Barcarolle" on cello. Fourteen-year-old Davit Hakobyan, on violin, performed a piece by Mirzoyan, while 17-year-old Rasa-Lila Buniatyan performed music by Sayat-Nova on the kamancha. The show ended with the young musicians of the YerazArt group playing music from the renowned Komitas.
