YEREVAN— On June 28, UNICEF, representatives of the European Union, and AGBU Armenia, joined by the Deputy Minister of Diaspora Davit Sargsyan, presented the revamped Together4Armenia platform. Together4Armenia is an online platform that brings together local initiatives and professionals from the diaspora who are ready to invest their knowledge in Armenia’s development. With various upgraded functions, the new platform will build efficient and lasting connections between locals, non-profit organizations and experts from the global Armenian community.
The revamped platform features a user-friendly registration system. Upgraded with a search mechanism and built-in messaging system, it quickly finds and automatically matches community projects with experts based on their fields and local needs.
At the event, participants heard the testimonies of the experts and beneficiaries of Together4Armenia and discussed the value of intellectual volunteering as a meaningful way of engagement to bring tangible change to Armenia.
“The Together4Armenia platform facilitates the transfer of knowledge, experience and goodwill, which is increasingly important for today’s Armenia. We are hopeful that this platform will harness the diaspora’s intellectual potential to develop and empower Armenian communities and ensure the well-being of families and their children,” UNICEF Representative in Armenia Tanja Radocaj said.
Since 2016, more than 60 professionals from the diaspora have shared their knowledge with over 2100 beneficiaries in various regions of Armenia through this free online platform. Their contribution and guidance helped solve numerous community issues and brought a fresh perspective to various sectors, ranging from education to agriculture, innovative technology, project management and much more.
“For AGBU, a vibrant and capable civil society is a precondition for building a strong Armenia. We believe that engaging professionals from the diaspora is a unique way of strengthening Armenian civil society and creating long-standing bridges between the diaspora and Armenia. This is our double bottom line, and Togeter4Armenia platform serves that objective,” Arsen Stepanyan, the team leader of the Bridge for CSOs project at AGBU Armenia, said.
Together4Armenia was created in 2016 by the shared vision of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Armenia and the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) with the financial support of the European Union and is implemented in partnership with Mission East Armenia.
