Students & Families of Vienne, France Attend Holiday Celebration on Jan. 18
On Sunday, January 18, 2009, AGBU Vienne Chairman Charles Garabed Paltobedrossian organized a New Year and Christmas afternoon celebration for the children and families of the local Armenian school. Pupils had prepared songs, poems and skits to entertain family and friends during the holiday celebration.
Vienne Mayor and city deputy, Jacques Remiller attended the special event, as did Santa Claus, who made a special appearance with gifts for the children. Festivities ended with the offering of the traditional Twelfth Night Cake, which is flavored with candied fruits, citrus zest and liquor and eaten on the eve of the "twelfth night" of Christmas or January 6.
