Students of AGBU Alex and Marie Manoogian School Visit Armenia’s Diaspora Ministry

On May 6, the students of the graduating class of Detroit’s AGBU Alex and Marie Manoogian School, headed by Principal Hovsep Torossian and Anahid Toumajan, teacher of Armenian language, literature and history, visited the Diaspora Ministry of the Republic of Armenia. The visit to the homeland had been arranged by Zabel Berberian, children’s writer and head of the “Parev Doon” organization.

After welcoming the diasporan students on their visit to the homeland, Diaspora Deputy Minister Stepan Petrossian presented the ministry’s activity and pan-Armenian programs. In particular, he informed them about the “Ari Doon” (Come Home) program and the “One Nation, One Culture” pan-Armenian festival, as well as the privileges established by the state of diasporan Armenians wishing to receive higher education in the homeland.

Principal Torossian presented the concise history of the Alex and Marie Manoogian School.

Thereafter, the diasporan Armenian students watched video films about the one-year activity of the Diaspora Ministry and the “Ari Doon” program.
