Scholarship Event Takes Place in Sofia, Bulgaria

On January 11, 2009, AGBU Sofia organized a small event for  2008/2009 AGBU scholarship recepients. The gathering took place at the renowned Tea House in downtown Sofia, Bulgaria.

Sonia Bedrosian, Chairwoman of AGBU Sofia, introduced special guest, Violina Marinova, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Director of DSK Bank, who was invited to hand out the scholarships to the eight young Bulgarian Armenian recipients. Marinova thanked the organizers for the opportunity to be part of the ceremony and she spoke about hard work and consistency as the keys to success not only in the banking industry but in every field.

Each of the recipients made a brief statement about their motivation to take part in the benevolent activities of AGBU and career aspirations. The event was attend by many prominent members of the city's Armenian community, all of whom had the opportunity to meet and chat with scholarship recipients and AGBU members.
