A Perfect Score for AGBU

    Charity Navigator Four star Charity

We are pleased to inform you that AGBU earned the highest 4/4 rating for Accountability and Transparency from Charity Navigator, the largest non-profit assessment agency in the nation. In light of this gratifying news, I hope each of you will not only take collective pride in this impressive distinction but also in spreading the word when engaging with your constituencies in your respective communities.

While trust has been at the core of the AGBU mission for over a century, there’s nothing as reinforcing to our good name as an impartial, outside endorsement from a respected authority that puts us in a league with the biggest names in the non-profit sphere.   As Charity Navigator explains it, a four-star rating denotes that AGBU “exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its Cause.”

Many thanks for all you do every day, individually and collectively, to enhance the reputation of AGBU locally and globally. Surely this vote of confidence will inspire you to continue to strive for integrity, excellence, transparency, and accountability in all your undertakings.

About Charity Navigator (excerpted from its website)

Founded in 2001, Charity Navigator has become the nation's largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities. In our quest to help donors, our team of professional analysts has examined tens of thousands of non-profit financial documents. We've used this knowledge to develop an unbiased, objective, numbers-based rating system to assess over 9,000 of America's best-known and some lesser known, but worthy, charities.

Specifically, Charity Navigator's rating system examines two broad areas of a charity's performance; their Financial Health and their Accountability & Transparency. Our ratings show givers how efficiently we believe a charity will use their support today, how well it has sustained its programs and services over time and their level of commitment to good governance, best practices and openness with information. In the not-too-distant future, we plan to also rate charities’ reporting of their results. We provide these ratings so that charitable givers/ social investors can make intelligent giving decisions, and so that the nonprofit sector can improve its performance
