Highlights of 2013: A Year in Pictures

As we kick off 2014 we’re looking back at the events that made the past year memorable.

This summer was full of exciting birthdays – Camp Nubar’s 50th, Colonie de Vacances’s 30th, and Discover Armenia’s 10th. They were just some of the AGBU groups with milestone anniversaries:

We celebrated a half a century for AGBU Sydney and the Levon-Nazarian School in Beirut, 85 years of AGBU Lyon, 40 years in Montevideo’s Nubarian-Manoogian School, two decades of Hye Geen, a decade of AGBU Asbeds, our sixth annual NYSEC Performing Artists in Concert, and five years of the AGBU Yerevan Scouts.

At the same time, to honor Aram Khachaturian’s birth, AGBU Yerevan brought performances of “Sabre Dance” to the city’s streets, while AGBU Lebanon and the Sofia Chamber Orchestra held tribute concerts.

Through it all, we supported the causes that matter the most. The AGBU Syria Emergency Relief Fund broke the $1 million mark, AGBU FOCUS raised $80,000 for GenNext, our Scholarship Program distributed over $1.1 million internationally, and the AGBU Young Professionals brought greenhouses to the Armenian village Barekamavan.

And it was you—our members from around the world—that made all of it possible. Thank you!
