Eduard Melkonian’s The History of AGBU Published in Russian
In October 2010, with the support of the Armenian General Benevolent Union’s Central Board of Directors, Eduard Melkonian’s Armenian General Benevolent Union: Continuous History was published in Russian at the Tigran Mets printing house in Yerevan. Melkonian is a Senior Researcher of the Institute of History at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. This new edition is a translation of the author’s The History of AGBU, published in Yerevan in 2005. Compared with the Armenian version, the Russian translation has undergone extensive editing, structural changes, and additions. Armenian General Benevolent Union: Continuous History fills the tangible gap in Russian-language literature on the Armenian diaspora and pan-Armenian issues.
