Cypriot Chapters Donate to Greek Fire Relief Efforts

AGBU Representative David Shahabian presents Greek Ambassador to Cyprus, Dimitrios Rallis, with a check from AGBU's three Cypriot chapters for the victims of this past summer's destructive fires in Greece.
The AGBU chapters of Cyprus (Larnaca, Limassol and Nicosia) recently made a donation of 3,000 Cypriot Pounds (7,500 USD) to the relief fund for victims of the devastating fires that swept through Greece during the last week of August, killing more than 60 people and leaving thousands of people homeless.
The donation was presented by a delegation of AGBU members, headed by David Shahabian, to Dimitrios Rallis, Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus, at the Greek embassy in Nicosia. The delegation assured Ambassador Rallis of the readiness of the Armenian community of Cyprus to assist the victims in any way they can.
The donation was extensively reported in the Cypriot media, including Cyprus Weekly, Azad Tzayn, and four Greek-language newspapers.
