Campfire Ceremonies Light up Summer at the AGBU Antranik Scout Camp

In July and August, family and friends came together for the two annual campfire ceremonies hosted at the Antranik base camp in Armenia’s Lori region. Surrounded by the area’s mountains, the 300-plus young scouts put on musical, dancing and singing performances.
The ceremonies were one of the highlights of the summer, which was filled with hiking, lectures, games and skill-building activities. Special trips to the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies (founded by AGBU Vice President Sam Simonian) in Yerevan, the Dilijan Army camp, as well as to the Holy Etchmiadzin, the Genocide Memorial, and Lake Sevan made the season memorable for all.
Over the past six years, the Antranik Camp has attracted 1,500 young men and women from around the world to Armenia. This year, the scouts represented a total of five countries—the AGBU-AYA Chapters from various cities in Armenia, Iran, Lebanon and Syria, as well as new AGBU-associated scouts groups in Georgia.
