On January 8, 2011, AGBU Camp Nubar hosted its Annual Winter Reunion at St. Leon Armenian Church in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Even the snow could not stop over 80 campers, counselors, and alumni from attending the event, some of whom came from as far afield as Massachusetts and Maryland.

Campers and counselors were eager to reunite, reminisce, and rekindle bonds from their summer in the Catskill Mountains, where Camp Nubar is located. Past alumni and Nubar Kids also joined the fun. Nubar Kids, ages one to seven, enjoyed face painting, arts and crafts, and playing games in the gymnasium. There was a special preview of the new AGBU Camp Nubar promotional video, and the attendees applauded and cheered as their friends appeared on screen. Campers and counselors, led by Arno Isnar, the 2010 Activities Director, and Chrysti Cook, a Senior Counselor, joined together in the popular Camp Nubar evening activity called Sing Thing. Everyone was divided into teams and then given a specific word. They then had to find popular songs that contained that word; they sang their song to their peers and were rated on creativity and uniqueness. All attendees also played various games, including soccer, and enjoyed pizza and snacks.

The room was buzzing with camp friends who were discussing the Camp Nubar 2011 summer season. Once again, AGBU Camp Nubar will offer an unforgettable summer with new and exciting activities and friends from across the country. Applications are currently being accepted for 2011 staff positions. Camper applications will be posted in the coming weeks. For more information about our program please visit www.campnubar.org.
