The General Assembly of AGBU Cairo was held on Wednesday, April 21, at 8:00 pm at the local organization headquarters in the Heliopolis neighborhood of Cairo. The usual statutory points of the agenda were read and discussed. Items which required the approval of the Assembly all passed easily. The carefully prepared 2010 budget was also approved in the midst of increased activities and different humanitarian programs and aid plans as demonstrated by the projected graphs.
According to the figures, in 2009 AGBU Cairo spent 1 487 085 LE (US $260,000+) of which 355 561 LE were spent on cultural projects, 107 562 LE as financial support to Armenian organizations, 417 339 LE on the medicare project, 365 379 LE for social support, 131 810 LE on educational programs, and 30 000 LE were donated to the Armenian Studies center at Cairo University.
