Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hosts Book Launch for AGBU District Chair Berdj Terzian

A special book launch event was held on October 20, 2012, in Yerevan at Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of its author, Mr. Berdj Terzian, AGBU Egypt Chairman and AGBU Cairo Chapter Honorary Chairman.

The book, “The Genesis of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Egypt," is dedicated to the beginnings of the twenty-year old Armeno-Egyptian diplomatic relations. During the event, AGBU Education Director Artoun Hamalian and literary critic and  “Spyurk" Educational and Research Center Director in Yerevan Dr. Souren Danielian presented the book from different perspectives.

Armenia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian paid tribute to Egypt's Armenian community and its representatives who had worked hard to make the creation of the Embassy a reality, in spite of the many difficulties encountered. Minister Nalbandian also praised Mr. Terzian for his particular contribution in the establishment of the Embassy and the realization of its activities, and went on to express words of gratitude to the Egyptian Armenian community and its members for their support and input in the founding and functioning of the Embassy. He also expressed his gratefulness to benefactor Vart Alexanian and his wife, who were present at the event, for their continuous and unconditional support.

Mr. Terzian thanked Minister Nalbandian for his initiative to organize this event. He also thanked the two speakers for their comments and all those who were present on this occasion. He stressed the important role the Embassy has played since its establishment in 1992 in developing the distinct relations between Armenia and Egypt.
