A joint Armenian-Jewish project named "Youth Participation in National Communities - Way for the Democratic Citizenship" was held April 12-18 in Budapest, Hungary. The project was supported and financed by the Council of Europe and took place in the CoE’s Youth-Centre of Budapest.

For one week, forty carefully selected Armenian and Jewish young people from 15 different member states of the Council of Europe came together in order to work on the above-mentioned topic. The program tackled themes and issues such as Armenian and Jewish Diaspora community life, intercultural dialogue, assimilation vs. integration, organizing in the diaspora and many other topics. Moreover, the program comprised sessions of guest speakers such as Stepan Petrosyan, first deputy of the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia, and evening programs such as Jewish and Armenian evenings.

The German-Armenian students club HAIK, an AGBU partner in Germany, was part of the organizing team and attended the project with four of its members.

At the end of the week, the participants and the organizing team declared that it was a quite fruitful and worthwhile project referring to the content as well as the encounters of active diapora youth, and were looking forward to further cooperation in the future.
