AGBU's GenNext Hosts "Green Day" Group Activity
On February 12, 2012, AGBU's GenNext hosted their "Green Day" activity for mentors and mentees. The concept behind the event was to educate youth and promote healthy living in a holistic way based on realistic goals in a fast-paced world.
The activity took place at the "Dome,” the GenNext offices in Glendale, and consisted of two parts: gardening, and food preparation. Mentors and mentees constructed four above ground planters, then planted herbs, vegetables, and fruits in their very own plot of land. This was followed by a buffet style lunch where participants washed, diced, and prepared their own salads and smoothies. The event was graciously sponsored by Raffi's Place Restaurant, who donated their signature kabobs for over 50 people.
