Funds Help Bring Critical Humanitarian Aid to Syrian-Armenian Communities
Donations are continuing to pour in for the AGBU Humanitarian Emergency Relief Fund in Support of Syrian Armenians, with the most recent support coming from the AGBU Young Professionals of Boston (YP Boston). The group generated $1,500 at the beginning of the year, which is now being directed to families in need.
Last year, YP Boston also joined together in solidarity with the Syrian-Armenian community, partnering with the Armenian American Social Club in Watertown to hold a charity dinner, the proceeds of which benefitted relief efforts.
Irina Nanagoulian, the YP Boston Chair, commented, “We are pleased we could do our part to contribute to the AGBU Humanitarian Emergency Relief Fund. As the situation abroad continues to deteriorate, we know that our fellow Armenians depend on our support, and through this fundraiser we showed them that we are here to help. We are so thankful to everyone who contributed to this critical cause.”
This year’s event, which was held at Nubar restaurant in Cambridge’s historic Sheraton Commander Hotel, drew young professionals from across Boston and the greater northeast. With over 80 guests, it was YP Boston’s most well-attended event to date.
YP Boston welcomes new committee members as it actively expands. For more information about volunteer opportunities or to find an upcoming event, visit agbuypboston.webs.com or email ypboston@gmail.com.
