Investing in the future of the “next generation” since the 1920’s, the AGBU Scholarship Program has championed the higher education of thousands of promising young Armenians enrolled in leading colleges and universities around the world. Through the current global allocation of over $600,000 annually, the AGBU Scholarship Program, financed through Endowment Funds established by generous AGBU donors, contributes each year to the academic achievements of hundreds of gifted students hailing from 25 countries and five continents.

A major force in the education of Armenian youth, AGBU has provided financial assistance to deserving students, largely in the form of grants plus interest-free loans, in areas of study as diverse as business, history, journalism, international relations, public administration, performing arts, Armenian studies, medicine and law.

By supporting Armenian youth in competitive programs at prestigious institutions, such as University of Pennsylvania, The Julliard School, McGill University, Oxford University, Université Paris– Sorbonne, American University of Beirut and University of Buenos Aires, AGBU has enabled the education of generations of Armenians, who have gone on to shape and enrich the future of the communities in which they live.

“Throughout my college years, the AGBU Scholarship Program has consistently been there for me providing financial support. This means so much to me because it helped me achieve one of my very important dreams – a higher education – which will down the road provide me greater opportunities in life,” said AGBU scholarship recipient Lusine Daduryan, major in Plant Protection and Biotechnology at the Agricultural University in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. “I have learned from my family to help people in need, and that is exactly what AGBU does, setting an example for all of us. I am and always will be grateful to AGBU.”

Providing over $10 million of support in the last 15 years, the AGBU Scholarship Program reaps its own rewards as countless recipients develop into prosperous, accomplished professionals in their chosen fields. Crediting AGBU for the important role the organization served in their education, former scholarship recipients demonstrate their ongoing appreciation and commitment by contributing to the AGBU Scholarship Fund, and holding leadership roles in the growing ranks of AGBU’s Young Professionals Network.
