On August 21, 2015, the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School appointed Hratch Sepetjian as Director of Armenian Studies and Programs.
On August 21, 2015, the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School in Canoga Park, California appointed Hratch Sepetjian as Director of Armenian Studies and Programs. As director, Sepetjian will work collaboratively with the Armenian teachers (toddler group through twelfth grade) and oversee the curriculum alongside the school’s administration.
“I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for the opportunity that has been given to me to continue serving the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School to preserve the Armenian language and contribute to the Armenian culture,” said Sepetjian. Sepetjian has over 20 years of professional experience as an educator and has served as the Armenian department chair for the past seven years. He is also a member of the editorial board of the Armenian-language newspaper Nor Or. He holds a master’s degree from Yerevan State University in Armenian philology and pedagogy. Sepetjian is a proud alumnus of the AGBU Melkonian Educational Institute in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School began in 1976 as St. Peter-AGBU Day School with an enrollment of 19 pupils and a staff of three teachers. Since then, it has grown into an accredited, state-of-the-art college-preparatory academy with close to 700 students, nearly 100 highly qualified educators and a dedicated support staff.
