Sassoun Baghdassarian, Karabakh projects coordinator of the AGBU Armenian Representation, paid a visit to Australia from February 9 to March 3, 2011 to meet with local Armenians and explain the extensive work being done by AGBU in the mountainous republic of Karabakh. On February 12, Baghdassarian met with AGBU Sydney Chairman Toros Boghosian, and they discussed the current projects of the Union in Australia, Armenia and Karabakh and possible prospects for future cooperation. On February 22, Baghdassarian was hosted at SBS, one of the leading radio stations of Sydney, to speak about AGBU’s activities and answer questions from the Australian-Armenian community. On February 25, AGBU Sydney members and youth structures hosted the Karabakh projects coordinator at AGBU Alex Manoogian Cultural Center. During the presentation, the Karabakh-based Baghdassarian emphasized AGBU's education and youth programs including the Yerevan summer internship program, the Discover Armenia youth trip, the Antranik scout camp in Armenia, the activities of the Young Professionals of Yerevan, and the Armenian Virtual College. At the conclusion of the event, he also answered many questions from the audience regarding the AGBU's programs and the current situation in Karabakh.
