On November 29, 2008, AGBU Plovdiv organized its thirteenth annual Armenian Student Soiree, which was attended by a hundred people from across Bulgaria, including members of YP Plovdiv. The event took place at the Finesse Restaurant in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Present were Archpriest Der Kevork Khacheryan, Bulgarian National Assembly Representative Dr. Roupen Krikorian, and AGBU Plovdiv leaders.

The program included music, dancing, games, a raffle and special humorous awards, which brought a great deal of levity to the evening's activities. An annual tradition, the Plovdiv Student Soiree recognizes the importance of youth in the chapter's activities. AGBU Plovdiv chairman Roupen Chavoushian and Edouard Arsenian along with longtime supporters of youth initiatives were invited to cut the ceremonial cake.

Organizers were particularly encouraged by the great turnout of students from the neighboring cities of Haskovo, Dobrich, Kardjali, and Sliven.
