John Cherkezian Joins AGBU as Chief Operating Officer

The AGBU Central Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of John Cherkezian as Chief Operating Officer.

In this capacity, Mr. Cherkezian will be responsible for the management of AGBU's business operations, including Finance, Information Systems, Real Estate and Development.

YPGNY Discovers the Wonders of Camp Nubar

ypgnyretreat01.jpgThis past weekend, the Young Professionals of Greater New York (YPGNY) ventured to the scenic paradise of the Hudson Valley in upstate New York. Thirty-six YPs joined in on the fun and took advantage of AGBU Camp Nubar's peaceful 4.5 acres, spring fed lake (Lake Arax), modern cabins and state-of-the-art amentities.

AGBU Yerevan Summer Intern Program's Premier Session Strengthens Global Armenian Community

Plovdiv Hosts Lectures, Saturday School & Summer Camp in First Half of 2007

AGBU Plovdiv Chapter launched a series of special events for the Armenian community in Bulgaria this year. With two book presentations, a summer camp for kids, and an end-of-school-year event, Plovdiv for Armenians has never been more exciting.

On January 19, 2007, more than 80 guests attended the book presentation of the newly published book "The Successors of Atlantis" by Stepan Parseghian in Plovdiv's TrakArt Cultural Center. The AGBU Plovdiv Chapter, the editorial team of "AGBU Voice" newspaper and the Plovdiv Municipality organized the event.

AGBU-Funded Saturday School Established in Barcelona

The work of the members of the Armenian Cultural Association of Barcelona finally bore fruit this year with the opening of the Armenian Saturday School, funded by the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU). The school's first classes began on February 8, 2007 and finished recently, marking its first ever season.
