    Medical Support

Advancing health and wellness in Armenia

AGBU is uniquely positioned to help transform healthcare in the homeland, having established critical care centers since the 1930s. In fact, many of these initiatives continue to serve the medical needs of the public even today. Many of these early initiatives continue to serve the medical needs of the public today. From the aftermath of the Spitak Earthquake in 1988 to the collapse of the Soviet health system in 1991 and through the ensuing years of Armenian independence, our initiatives helped pave the way for the westernization and modernization of medicine in Armenia. And in times of crisis, AGBU intervenes to procure and purchase state-of-the-art equipment and supplies to help save lives.

    Promoting Access to Quality Care

With a multi-disciplinary teaching hospital, a world-class diagnostic center, and a patient-centered polyclinic, patients have access to high quality standards of care that is affordable and, in some cases, free of charge. Throughout the country, the success of these respected centers of excellence and programs offering an array of medical specialities and patient services can be owed to AGBU's steadfast support.

    Advancing Diagnostic Testing and Procedures

The Levon and Claudia Nazarian Ultrasound Center at Yerevan State Medical University (YMSU) was the first of its kind in Armenia, revolutionizing diagnostic testing and radiology procedures in the country and providing unparalleled training for physicians. The Center has tested thousands of patients, largely thanks to a partnership with Jefferson Memorial Teaching Hospital in Philadelphia, USA.

Staying true to our reputation as a reliable and efficient organization in times of need, AGBU continues to step in to facilitate and provide medical resources during times of crisis.

    Critical Equipment and Supplies

    Critical Equipment and Supplies

AGBU has always rushed to the rescue with recovery equipment to help save lives on the ground. Most recently with the compounding effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and Artsakh War, AGBU arranged for cargo shipments of ventilators, oxygen generators, x-ray machines, PPE supplies and more.

    De-stigmatizing Mental Health

    De-stigmatizing Mental Health

After the Second Artsakh War, many children faced deep trauma. Recognizing the value of early intervention, AGBU opened Camp Nairi in 2021 to welcome youth of Artsakh and Armenia to work with counselors, professional therapists and clergy offering an outlet for processing and overcoming their emotional and mental burdens.
