AGBU LEAP is a professional development initiative that aims to contribute to the socioeconomic empowerment of the people and a sustained economic growth in Artsakh. Launched in 2019 and with over 1,000 participants to date, the program helps locals with a variety of educational backgrounds and skill sets to improve their livelihoods, advance their careers in key industries, and compete in the regional and global economy.
With a goal of keeping talent in country, it is important to create opportunities for personal and professional growth. It is also critical to ensure connectivity between professionals in Artsakh and counterparts in Armenia and abroad. AGBU LEAP works with the American University of Armenia (AUA), to offer free English language classes as well as courses in public sector capacity building, entrepreneurship and hospitality management. We also support public servants in their professional development and cultivate a more supportive environment for small and medium-size enterprises in Artsakh.
Over 80% of past AGBU LEAP participants have remained in Artsakh, committed to furthering their livelihood and investing in the development of industry growth and rebuilding.
Developed to offer a competitive edge for adult learners, LEAP provides an array of courses and experiences ensuring participants are aware of changing trends and developments in their respective fields. In addition to the lectures, workshops and coursework, the curriculum includes simulation trainings and networking opportunities. For example, students enrolled in our entrepreneurship program also work on public speaking and presentation skills, as well as how to engage at expos and media events.
