What happens with compassionate young professionals who spend one week working together to serve communities of Artsakh throughout Armenia? A unique service program called AGBU ACT (Armenians Come Together).
Ignited on the heels of the devastating 44-day war in Artsakh, AGBU France launched a series of service trips for those who wanted to roll up their sleeves and give back in person. AGBU ACT has since evolved and works to implement the important humanitarian work of AGBU in Armenia with the strength of our strongest assets, our volunteers.
Our service work is currently focused on improving the lives of people from Artsakh who have been forcibly displaced within various regions of Armenia. See below for more information.
With no registration or participation fees, all you need to do is sign up and book your flight!
AGBU ACT participants carry out several service projects based on the current needs and humanitarian outreach of AGBU, in Yerevan and in different regions of Armenia. The program takes place during one week to ten days with missions. All participants are expected to be in Armenia during this period.
Examples of service activities towards people displaced from Artsakh includes:
*The program is designed with agility and volunteers may be asked to assist with other tasks that may arise according to the needs of the time.
To become a volunteer, you must speak English or French or Armenian (basic level) and be at least 18 years old.
Volunteers are responsible for paying for airfare and personal expenses during their stay.
We recommend participants buy refundable or exchangeable ticket including insurance. Participants are responsible for taking out insurance for the entire duration of the stay.
AGBU will provide limited dormitory-style rooms in the AGBU Vahe Karapetian Center at a cost of 10€ per night (breakfast non included). They will be offered on a first come, first served basis. You may participate with your own accommodation as well.
AGBU will also provide transportation from/to Zvartnots Airport, the service project locations and the AGBU Vahe Karapetian Center throughout the week.
A welcome dinner and a farewell cocktail will be organized by AGBU for the participants.
ACT cohort are a group of 15 volunteers maximum. The group is kept small for efficiency and general safety.
There are no registration or participation fees. Volunteers must cover their own expenses. AGBU does offer accommodations for a small fee (see above).
