Pursuant to the institution of the World Genocide Commemoration Day on December 9, 2015, by the UN resolution 69/323, the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), as survivor of genocide, feels the ethical responsibility to highlight about past and current genocides happening in the world and shed light about prevention and other ensuring initiatives globally.

Building on the recommendations from Seminar I that covered extensively the legal aspect of the genocide and its prevention, the international protections system and the role of the state, AGBU invites you to attend the second Seminar for International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime, entitled “Preventing and combatting gross human rights violations: a responsibility for all”, that will address the importance of education in genocide prevention, the significance of — international and local– civil societies, and the role of the media towards that end.
