Earlier this month, AGBU was charged with distributing four 100 KW diesel generators to strategic locations in Armenia. The generators were initially destined for Artsakh as part of a humanitarian aid mission funded by several municipalities and regions of France and facilitated by the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France in partnership with UGAB France. With the agreement of all donors, AGBU took responsibility for redeploying the generators to vulnerable communities in Armenia. This would become part of AGBU’s overall crisis response plan, designed to avoid repeated dire scenarios in Artsakh in recent years. Press Release: https://lnkd.in/eSiKdvq9

AGBU Young Professional chapters worldwide have achieved a huge accomplishment in helping the displaced people of Artsakh. The "YP Cares" campaign, launched four months ago, raised over $220,000 - an enormous result from the initial $120,000 goal! A huge thank you to all who supported this campaign to benefit the AGBU Global Relief Fund and the YPs, who once again fully manifested their readiness to commit to the Armenian cause. U.S. President Joe Biden, the first president to formally recognize the Armenian Genocide, has released a statement: “Today, we pause to remember the lives lost during the Meds Yeghern—the Armenian genocide—and renew our pledge to never forget. The campaign of cruelty began on April 24, 1915, when Ottoman authorities arrested Armenian intellectuals and community leaders in Constantinople. Today marks 118 years of AGBU's dedication to the well-being of Armenia and its global diaspora. AGBU President Berge Setrakian said in a message, “On this 118th anniversary of our organization's foundation, I would like to congratulate all our Chapters, members, and friends who believe in and work to pursue the mission that our founders established. We remain faithful to the ideals and values they have put forward in the service of the Armenian Nation and the Church.” Though challenging times remain, including the ongoing Artsakh crisis, AGBU is unwaveringly committed to helping Armenia's prosperity and connecting Armenians of all generations worldwide through the homeland's extensively rich historical and cultural heritage. In unity is strength.

According to UNESCO, Armenia's alphabet is one the world's oldest! Developed by Mesrop Mashtots, an Armenian linguist and ecclesiastical leader, this ancient set of letters shaped like an equilateral triangle contains a variety of riddles and cosmic wisdom. In addition, the alphabet is on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Although the number and order of the letters have changed over long periods, the Armenian alphabet is a piece of heritage that will continue to represent the country for a long time. 📷: Armenian Virtual College

Volunteers with AGBU ACT (Armenians Come Together) are working to change lives! Recently, participants from the United States, France, Russia, and Switzerland traveled to Armenia to assist with the renovation of the Armavir State College of Art. The volunteers also distributed essential household items to displaced families from Artsakh and presented gifts to over 150 kids in a heartwarming event in the Kotayk region. Thank you to all of the compassionate participants for their fantastic work! Since 2020, the actions of ACT volunteers have helped tens of thousands. AGBU proudly presents the Arménie, Terre de Vie social service program 2023 edition! To watch the full video, visit https://lnkd.in/eDxnQyFQ For the eighth installment of the initiative last year, 17 volunteers went to Sarigyugh in the Tavush region to rebuild eight of the village’s kindergartens. Volunteers organized recreational days for Artsakh's village children and displaced children. They prepared and distributed food packages to Artsakh’s families and visited orphanages. Finally, they distributed school supplies and raised awareness of dental care. The application deadline for those ages 18-30 is April 12 - take advantage of it!
