Social and humanitarian services in the homeland

Throughout the last century, AGBU has offered an array of health and social services to serve the most vulnerable in Armenia—from impoverished elderly, and expectant mothers and infants, to new immigrants and displaced victims of war.  We also invest in long term solutions that provide access to vital medical resources.

With the unstable geopolitical situation in the region, AGBU has extended its reach to thousands of Armenians from Artsakh and the Middle East in critical need of food, shelter, financial stipends, essential supplies and more.

    Social Services

Our goal is to spread hope and peace of mind among Armenians at various stages of life. Our six AGBU Hye Geen Centers in Armenia and Artsakh offer pregnant and new mothers nutritional and childcare counseling as well as access to women’s health specialists. Our three AGBU Senior Dining Centers in districts of Yerevan ensure warm nutritious meals and a sense of community to over 600 seniors six days a week. The funding we provide to the Women's Support Center helps victims of domestic violence find safe shelter and stepping stones to financial independence.

    Medical Support

Access to quality affordable health care is fundamental to family stability and workplace productivity in Armenia. To that end, we have established valued health resources including the AGBU-YSMU Levon and Claudia Nazarian Radiology Center, which raises the bar on diagnostic testing with advanced technology and a western-trained staff, while the AGBU Claudia Nazarian Medical Center treats immigrants who fled conflict ridden Syria, free of charge.
