    Checkmate! The regional rounds of the AGBU-sponsored 17th Republican Interschool Chess Tournament recently ended with 275 students from all the regions of Armenia participating and receiving gifts. Tournament finals will be held later this year in October, and we can't wait to see who wins! For more than a decade, chess lessons have been made part of the curriculum in every public school in Armenia, making it the first country in the world to make chess mandatory in schools. In addition, AGBU has helped sponsor this particular Tournament since 2007 and encourages all to take up this prestigious game.
