Program Description:

The Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) is partnering with NuVuX to provide innovation studios to middle and high school students. AGBU is the world’s largest non-profit organization devoted to upholding the Armenian heritage through educational, cultural and humanitarian programs. NuVuX is an initiative that brings design, creativity and innovation to K-12 schools and organizations around the world, allowing students to explore real world topics in a hands-on studio environment, solving complex challenges using creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

AGBU Innovation Studios (AGBU IS) is:

• A multidisciplinary project-based program aimed to inspire the next generation of young Armenian creators, innovators and agents of change by empowering them with 21st century skills in technology, design and systems thinking
• Our goal is to foster the development of engaged and solution-oriented individuals who bring a creative and innovative spirit and social impact in all aspects of life, and who actively engage in the Armenian world and beyond not only as active members, but as architects of its future
• Participants will explore the Armenian language, culture and history in ways that are relevant, dynamic and meaningful to their personal Armenian narrative

AGBU Innovation Studios launched in Pasadena, California in February 2022.

Responsibilities:

Looking for a highly dynamic and innovative Program Manager for overseeing the successful development, launch and implementation of Innovation Studios in Toronto. The Program Manager works closely with the Program Director to ensure alignment with global program goals and objectives. General interest in design, technology and education is preferred.

• Responsible for recruiting instructors; training and evaluating with Director of IS as needed
• Develop outreach and recruitment strategy with management team for enrollment
• Manage implementation of programs/studios, budget, materials, etc.
• Develop feedback loop for continuous design of programs
• Schedule and facilitate meetings with Program Director, instructors, students
• Research and connect with industry professionals for guest speaker opportunities
• Maintain communication with parents
• Monitor program expenditures
• Maintain community relations
