The AGBU New York Special Events Committee (NYSEC) is a dynamic group of volunteers sharing the commitment to organizing distinct cultural and educational events in the greater New York area. Comprised of 11 dedicated women, NYSEC was established in 2004 to organize events focusing on the arts and Armenian culture and raise funds for the AGBU performing arts initiatives. NYSEC has held around 40 first-class events, including concerts, lectures, luncheons, gallery tours and others.
For nearly a century, the AGBU Scholarship Program has championed the higher education of thousands of promising young Armenians enrolled in leading colleges and universities around the world. Financed through endowment funds established by generous AGBU donors since the 1920s, the AGBU Scholarship Program has proudly contributed to the academic achievements of gifted young Armenians, offering financial assistance to full-time students of Armenian descent from close to 40 countries across six continents. Today, through its AGBU Heritage Scholars Program and added focus on specialized fields of study, such as the performing arts and religious studies, the program offers financial assistance to a broader range of Armenian students around the world.
The AGBU Performing Arts Scholarship offers grants to full-time undergraduate and graduate students of Armenian descent worldwide who are pursuing their study in the field of performing arts.
